Explore: Brooklyn Bridge

Hey There Friendlings,

Have you ever seen a place that you’re extremely curious to find out more about the place ? Yes ? That was the Brooklyn Bridge for me. I had always driven past or had seen it in the distance or even on Instagram posts but I had never gone ahead and walked on the iconic bridge. The other day, I finally made it a stop on my itinerary.

The Brooklyn Bridge is the perfect way to get a magnificent view of New York. The bridge connects Manhattan and Brooklyn and is about two kilometers long.

I went on the bridge in the late afternoon and I must say, there were more people than I expected. I guess it was winter break and all the students were finding places to entertain themselves. Oh, and new years eve is in several days and so everyone had flocked in New York City for the Times Square celebrations.

The architecture of this bridge is INCREDIBLE. There are thick ropes and pipes, steel and hundreds of other materials holding up this beautiful bridge.

By the way, did you know that this bridge is part of the three main bridges in New York City?  There is the Williamsburg, Manhattan and the Brooklyn Bridge.

There are several locks on the Bridge. I feel like the locks make the bridge a place filled with memories. Unfortunately, it is illegal to put locks on the bridge and if you are caught putting a lock on the bridge, there will be serious consequences.

Like I mentioned before, the view of the city from the bridge is beautiful ! It’s a different perspective from the skyscrapers above. Below the bridge is the New York City’s East River. Since I visited in the winter, it was freezing on the bridge because of the river.

I started my ‘journey’ from Brooklyn and walked to Manhattan. However  you can start from Manhattan and walk to Brooklyn.

If you ever find yourself in New York City, I definitely recommend walking on the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s free, it’s a great stretch for your legs and the view is AMAZING ! Who would pass up such a opportunity ?

Is there a place where you have wanted to visit and just haven’t had time to visit ? Scroll further down and let me know by leaving a comment !

Thank you so much for reading,

Hugs and Kisses,
