How To Function on Zero to No Sleep

Hey there friendlings,

I think it is safe to say that I’ve hit a point in my life in which I sometimes have to stay up late and forget about bed times to successfully finish my school work. I’ve had times when I go to bed at 12am or 1am in the morning. This has often made me feel fatigue and at one point I lost the motivation that fueled me through the beginning of the year. I know that there are many people who are in the same boat as me and so I thought I’d share a few of my tip-top tips on how to reinvigorate yourself when you’ve had little to no sleep.

#1 Drink lots of water

Staying hydrated allows you to feel more alert and energetic. If you’re dehydrated it can often make you feel fatigue which makes your heart work harder in order to pump oxygen to your organs which of course, makes you tired. (Guess who’s passing science)

#2 Eat lightly

The worse thing to do to yourself is bloat your belly when you’re tired because a bloated belly makes you even more tired. Eating a light meal to start off your day gives you the energy you need whilst making you feel satisfied and not bloated.

#3 Get some fresh air

There’s nothing more awakening than getting some fresh air and catching a few rays from the the newly risen sun. Whilst getting some fresh air, I definitely recommend stretching your legs in some sort of a way whether it’s by walking or having a quick jog as this is a great pick-me-up in the mornings.

#4 Listen to Music

Music is proven to improve people’s moods. Play a little Frank Sinatra, Ed Sheeran or whoever tickles your fancy and you will definitely start your day off with the right note. ( see what I did there, note as in a way not as the music note)

#5 Have a cold shower

I don’t think that there is anyone who comes out of a cold shower and claims that they are feeling fatigue. A cold shower is a great way to shock your body and get yourself feeling energized.

+ don’t forget about a cuppa’ coffee

  1. This might go with eating lightly, but having a nice simple fruit smoothie helps a bunch. Nothing better than natural sugars to keep you going.
