Things bloggers hate hearing

Hey there friendlings,

Hope that you’ve had a fabulous week! As you can see by the title of this blog, these are some things that I think us bloggers HATE hearing, regardless of the size of our following. I absolutely love this little corner of the internet that I call my blog but of course, to every pro, there’s a con!

  • Do you get paid? If so, how much?

NONE OF YA’ BUSINESS. Urgh, I don’t think that there is a more generic question than this. The fact that blogging is now associated with money and fame is rather saddening. I’m by no means making a lifestyle because of blogging but for those who are, I think that it’s important to consider looking at it as a “normal” job, you don’t go around asking someone who works a 9-5 how much they get paid, do you?

  • Don’t you feel you’re oversharing your life?

I only share little snippets of my life and therefore, no, I don’t think that I’m oversharing. I think that because of how bloggers give little glimpses into their lives, which has not always been the norm, people now think that they know absolutely everything about the blogger which is simply far from the truth. Believe it or not, absolutely no one who follows me knows every single thing about me, and I’m sure that me, along with many other content creators would like to keep it that way.

  • I want a quick way to make money, can you show me how to make a blog?

When I started my blog, I never even knew that people could get paid by just sharing their opinion on products, life, travels, etc. Blogging is so much more than a way for people to create a revenue. It’s someone’s little corner of the internet in which they can spill their thoughts and/or share their creativity.

  • People don’t like reading so why do you have a blog?

I never ever started writing my blogs in the hopes that people read them. In fact, all my posts were private at one point and I was writing to myself. I later started sharing the posts with my friends and created a group of loyal readers. It does sadden me that people would much rather watch a video than read a blog post but at the end of the day, I love blogging and ultimately write for myself.

To all the bloggers/ content creators out there, what are some annoying questions you’ve been asked?

  1. You are so right😭! Just yesterday l was asked how much l make from my blog meanwhile it’s not even monetized and l don’t intend to. The one thing l absolutely hate hearing though is, “Can you please write about…” 🙆 Omw people can really drain our energy hey 😅

  2. I really don’t get all the money questions. Like, I am blogging for over a year now and haven’t made a cent because firstly it’s really complicated to add the whole money part into blogging and it’s simply not my intention!! I am blogger but i myself have no clue how to make money out of it and I don’t really care about those who do and how! All I know, is that it’s hard work to build a community and if it’s not your job, it’s a hobby that takes a lot of passion and patience!

  3. I can completely relate to all of these! I think a lot of people seem to think that us bloggers are in it for the money when it’s really not about that plus it’s so much harder to make that money than people think. I’ve been blogging for nearly three years and haven’t made a penny and that doesn’t matter to me because it’s not the reason I write. i’m like you and write for myself. Great post as always xx
